I thought you might be curious about what it’s like when I’m out on location—and I’m glad you asked! The truth is, I bring the same energy to my shoots that I bring to life: a mix of focus, creativity, and a little bit of fun. Photography should never feel stiff or staged. Whether I’m waiting quietly for wildlife to appear or goofing off to lighten the mood during a portrait session, I believe that the best photos happen when everyone feels comfortable and connected.

For me, connection is everything. I’ve learned through years of nursing, raising a family, and working in media that people open up when they feel at ease. That’s what I aim to create behind the lens—a space where you can just be yourself, while I do the work of capturing it in a way that feels true. It’s in those real moments—laughter, quiet pauses, small gestures—that the heart of the story comes through.

Being a Wyoming girl, I can’t help but draw inspiration from the landscapes around me: the sweeping skies, the wildlife, the beauty in everyday scenes. But just as much, I’m inspired by the people I get to work with. Every client, every project, is its own story—and I feel lucky to help tell it through my art.

So if you see me out in the field with my camera, know this: I’ll be doing what I love most—blending creativity, connection, and a whole lot of heart. That’s the Heather Adels experience, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
